Opportunities to co-present on 2018 webinar series for counsellors in USA

UK universities are invited to join as co-presenters on the British Council USA's 'Guiding students through UK undergraduate admissions' webinar series. A series of four webinars, produced in collaboration with UCAS, will provide US college counselors with essential information on guiding their students in applying to an undergraduate course in the UK.

Participating universities can select which webinar they would like to co-present on and will have 10 minutes at the end of the webinar to comment on the webinar topics from their institution’s perspective and highlight their university’s undergraduate courses and resources for counselors and international students.

Each participating university will also receive one bespoke e-shot featuring information about the university which can be used to highlight the university's undergraduate courses, resources for counselors and upcoming US visits that will be distributed to the British Council USA counselor database of 4,278 independent and school counselors before the webinar.

Please note: a maximum of two universities may participate in each webinar. Sign-ups are first-come, first-serve.

Background

This webinar series follows on the success of the 2017-18 webinar series for counsellors. Four webinars were produced between September 2017 and February 2018 in collaboration with UCAS and the US Department of Education. A total of 263 counselors participated in the webinars and 6 UK institutions co-presented.

In the US, there continues to be a rise in interest in UGT degrees in the UK. For the 2017-18 application cycle, the UK experienced its’ highest volume of undergraduate applications and acceptances from the US. However, the US continues to be one of the countries with the lowest conversion rates from applicants to enrolments in UCAS

By building an increased familiarity with and knowledge of the undergraduate application process among US college counselors and prospective students, the webinars aim to have a positive impact on the application-to-enrolment conversion rate and grow the number of applications to the UK.

The digital format also allows for a broad geographical reach in a highly dispersed market.
