Maximise the effectiveness of your conversion events in China: participate in the British Council’s pre-departure briefing days

The British Council is inviting UK institutions who are running pre-departure briefings and / or offer holder conversion sessions in China to join our British Council led pre-departure briefing sessions. This opportunity will allow students to attend an individual institution’s session as well as the British Council’s wider briefing session and meet with UK alumni and support services related to studying abroad. The aim of the initiative is to encourage attendance at individual institution's sessions by increasing the overall benefits to students and to build up excitement and interest in studying in the UK.

Benefits

  • Add value to your conversion events to encourage more offer holders to attend
  • Host a table in the welcome area to increase brand exposure and allow for individual discussions with students
  • Reach a larger number of students across tier one and tier two cities
  • Integrated social media promotion through British Council accounts.

How it works

1. The British Council will host an interactive pre-departure briefing session (approx. one hour) open to all students intending to study in the UK

2. Selected study abroad services (banking, accommodation, airlines etc.) will host booths to provide students with information regarding available support services for students going to study in the UK

3. Individual institutions will be allocated a one hour timeslot in a private room to host their own pre-departure briefing / conversion event to all their offer holders

4. Individual institutions will be provided with a table in the welcome area to interact with students and further brand exposure

5. Individual institutions will be included in integrated promotional posts on British Council social media accounts

Audience (for British Council session and welcome area)

  • Students with confirmed UK offers
  • Potential students interested in studying in the UK
  • General public including; parents, agents, English language learners, alumni etc.
