Malaysia: Public University seeking UK institutions to host short term students

One of the five research universities in Malaysia is seeking a UK university interested to host a group of undergraduate students on a short term basis in 2018.

The University is piloting a new mobility 'cultural immersion' programme which will see them bringing around 10 - 20 undergraduate students to an English speaking country for 14 - 20 days. The objective of the programme is to allow their undergraduate students - who will include both Malaysians and non-Malaysians - to immerse themselves in an English-speaking environment among native speakers.

The local university is aiming to run this in October 2018, although they are open to suggestions on the best months which are more doable for UK universities.

The university does not currently have a plan or structure in place for this programme and they are open to suggestions from UK universities who might already be running similar programmes. They are also open to the idea of having their students sit in a class, module or guest lectures.

The students are expected to bear the costs, with the local university providing a small amount of funding.

Please let us know if:

1) Your university is already running an existing or similar programme. If you are, the details of such programme(s)
2) You are able to arrange for a homestay for their students
3) The best month you would be able to host these students
4) There are any funding your university would be able to provide

This will be an excellent opportunity for UK universities wishing to showcase their campuses, courses and life as a student in the UK to these undergraduates. Students who participate in this programme might turn out to be prospective postgraduate students for the UK, especially when they have had a wonderful experience.

UK universities which are interested should contact Jennifer Wan by 14 February 2018
