Malaysia: Foundation seeking MoU partners for scholarships and knowledge transfer

An international foundation active in the fields of education, technology transfer and sustainable development is looking for UK institutions to develop a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with in knowledge exchange, technology transfer and scholarship collaborations. The foundation is based in Kuala Lumpur and aims to develop a network of organisations and individuals able and willing to contribute to the needs of the society and globally competent individuals.

The foundation does not currently have any partners in the UK and is looking at developing collaborations with UK institutions and related industry bodies. The foundation is looking at collaborations in two areas:

1) PhD and Post-doctorate Scholarships

The foundation provides scholarships to deserving PhD students (Malaysians and non-Malaysians) who are interested to undergo a PhD in the fields of science, technology or innovation. The value of the scholarships is up to USD15,000 (for PhD studies) and USD35,000 (for post-doc studies).  There are no ranking restrictions as to which university the student opt to go for, or the number of scholarships awarded at each application cycle.

UK institutions partnering them can suggest any PhD candidates holding an offer with their institution but do not have the necessary funding for their scholarship award consideration. This is providing that the student has successfully obtained an offer from the institution and meets the requirements stated by the foundation.
