Knowledge based mission: India 2012

The objective of this visit is to provide a platform to UK Institutions to establish stronger links in the subject of Biotechnology in North India and Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology in West India with potential Indian Institutions and relevant industry exposure in West India.

The participating UK institutions will meet with faculty at the respective Indian Institutions, take part in round table discussions, deliver presentations on specific topics and interact with the scientist (in West India) in life science sector.

Information about the visit:

  • Proposed dates of the visit are:
    1. Biotechnology - North India (Lucknow): 11 to 13 September 2012
    2. Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology  - West India (Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Vallabh Vidya  Nagar): 3 to 6 October 2012
  • Travelling UK academicians will be expected to deliver subject specific seminars.
  • The visit will target both UG and PG students.
  • Either one or a half of working day at each Indian Institution
  • Seminar topics shall be sent once we have received minimum numbers of expression of interest from UK Institutions
  • Selection will be made by the British Council based on Interest and openness to collaborations including collaborative delivery of programmes in UK and India by the participating UK Institution, a well thought about follow-up on completion of their visit to India by the respective UK Institution and the selection will be on first-come-first-served basis
  • Kindly nominate only one academic whose specialization matches with the ones mentioned above. This mission is open only to UK Institutions and agents will not be allowed to participate.
