Hong Kong Education UK schools road show 2013 – application closed

Hong Kong Education UK schools road show 2013

The next Education UK schools road show is scheduled to take place from 23 September (Monday) to 27 September (Friday). The event is designed to enable UK universities to meet prospective students, raise institutions’ profiles and build up or strengthen links and relationships with Hong Kong schools. The road show, which has run successfully for five years, is now open for application from all UK universities.

There will be places for 20+ universities. They will visit 15 international and local schools for a range of mini-fairs and workshops on higher education in the UK.

The format of the five-day visit will involve short seminars and workshops on UK education and the application processes and answering students’ questions directly. We aim to visit three schools per day. British Council counsellors will also be present to answer general enquiries.

In the course of the five-day tour, visits will take place between 9.00am and 8.00pm depending on the daily schedule. The schools will be asked to assist in the selection of universities to attend, ensuring there is a balanced range to meet the interests of their students.

A maximum of two representatives from each university can join the tour.

International schools are a major source of recruitment for UK universities. At the same time we recognise the growing demand from HKDSE students therefore will identify new schools with potential to be included in the programme.

The visit is timed to coincide with the period when Year 13 / HKDSE Secondary 6 students are making final choices for university entry, and when Year 12 students / HKDSE Secondary 5 will be beginning the decision-making process.

A participation fee of GBP1,300 will be charged to cover British Council costs under the British Council Services for International Education Marketing model. The participation fee will cover programme planning, co-ordination, briefing and logistical support during road show. Meals are not included.

Please let us know if you are interested in participating in the road show by returning the enclosed form by Friday 10 May 2013 to ukroadshow@britishcouncil.org.hk.
