Further your understanding of UK-China TNE: Attend the First UK-China Joint Institute Alliance Conference in Dalian, China

The UK and China are leading partners in the field of transnational education (TNE), with more than 220 degree-level joint initiatives approved by the Ministry of Education, including more than 20 initiatives at the postgraduate-level. In 2016/17, more than 33,000 students were undertaking UK qualifications in Mainland China.

The UK-China Joint Institute Alliance was formed in 2017 with the support of the British Council and the China Education Association of International Exchange. The aims of the Joint Institute Alliance are to support the development and management of high-quality joint institutes and to continue to further TNE collaboration between the UK and China.

On 15 to 16 October 2018 the UK-China Joint Institute Alliance will be hosting a Conference alongside its Annual General Meeting (AGM), to provide UK and Chinese institutions with a platform to further discuss TNE collaboration. The first Chinese co-chair of the Alliance, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics will host the Conference on their Dalian campus.

The Conference

The key themes of this year’s conference are sustainability, innovation, and quality assurance of UK-China transnational education, as well as new opportunities and challenges. The Conference is open to senior representatives and academics/practitioners of all current UK-China joint education programmes and institutes.

It is expected that opportunities for multi-lateral exchanges amongst participants will be identified, and that industry links and other emerging opportunities will be leveraged.

The aim of the Conference is to contribute to building a new phase of UK-China TNE with quality teaching and unique student experiences at its core, thereby supporting a long-term and sustainable future for UK-China TNE.
