Between 27th February – 2nd March in the beautiful city of Mendoza in Argentina we as the British Council will be attending FIESA – the leading International Higher Education event in Argentina, and we’d like to invite you to join us there and have packages available to significantly reduce the costs for you (more information below).

The opportunities at the event are two-fold:
- Partnerships: Argentinian Universities and HE institutions are looking to make new connections and new partnerships with international HE providers, creating opportunities for new research, new programmes and new possibilities for international student/academic mobility. The primary focus of the event will be on facilitating these conversations and we’ll be running our own activities to complement this.
- Recruitment: On Thursday, Argentinian students will be invited to attend the fair, creating recruitment opportunities for the attending universities. Last year the Argentinian government released specific scholarship programmes for STEM, and bilateral work in HE collaboration is gathering momentum with ongoing conversations towards a mutual recognition of qualifications. Furthermore, interest in travelling to the UK to study is growing dramatically (EnglishUK reported an increase in 30% of students coming to the UK from Argentina to study English) – all signs indicating that this is an important emerging market for the UK.

We have 5 packages for UK-based institutions available, given out on a first come first served criterion. These packages include:
- Up to £1,000 contribution to flights (possibly more, depending on availability)
- Free attendance at the event (worth $400 USD)
- Free accommodation – one room per institution.

The conditions are:
- You must attend the full event
- You must be promoting UK higher education
- You should be looking to explore academic partnerships with Argentinian universities, as well as recruit Argentinian students.

We need to confirm with the event organisers a list of attendees by the end of the day on Monday, as such (and to guarantee your place), as soon as you are able to confirm your availability to travel and event attendance, please complete this short form.
