Call for nominations: UK-East Asia Transnational Education Advisory Group

Opportunity

The British Council is looking for five representatives from UK higher education institutions to sit as members on a newly established UK-East Asia Transnational Education Advisory Group (TEAG).

The multi-stakeholder group will draw on the experience, knowledge and skills of its members to act as advisors for British Council TNE activities in East Asia.  The group will help secure the UK’s role as a leading provider of TNE in East Asia and will serve as a catalyst to drive innovation and new developments for TNE.

Role of TEAG members

  • Provide advice and recommendations to the British Council on the directions and priority activities on TNE in East Asia
  • Offer insights and identify new opportunities and trends
  • Serve as channel of professional advise within the areas of expertise represented
  • Act as advocate for the British Council’s work

Membership details

The TEAG will consist of a maximum of fifteen members. In addition to core members, meetings may be attended by topic specialists concerning specific items on the agenda.

Meetings will take place up to twice a year in the UK. Members will not be remunerated for their role, although the British Council will fund local travel and accommodation (if necessary) for TEAG members to attend face-to-face meetings in the UK.

TEAG will be Chaired by the British Council Director Education, East Asia, with the Director Education, China as Secretary.

To put forward a nomination, please complete the official nomination form (attached).

The nomination must be supported by a seconder (PVC and above) from your institution and must be countersigned by the seconder to signify assent to the nominee accepting the role.

Please also provide a supporting statement of no more than 200 words, alongside your nomination form. This should detail the nominee’s ability to deliver the role as member of the TEAG. For further details, please also refer to the Terms of Reference for UK-East Asia Transnational Education Advisory Group (attached).
