Two Foreign Universities Open Branch Campuses In Songdo (Korea)

Ghent University from Belgium and the University of Utah from the USA have opened its branch campus in Songdo, Incheon Free Economic Zone in Korea. Ghent University is the first European University to open a campus in Songdo bringing the total number of foreign universities in Songdo to four. The State University of New York at Stony Brook opened its Songdo campus in 2012 followed by George Mason University in March.

Considering that the government intends to encourage foreign investment in the education sector by lowering threshold for foreign investors, branches of foreign universities are likely to increase.
