Software education to be compulsory at schools in Korea

Programming skills are becoming more important these days.
The Korean government has announced that middle school students will learn software development skills from next year. Software education will be also included in the elementary schools’ curricular as part of a compulsory course from 2017 and in high school from 2018.
A pilot programme will be run at 72 nationwide schools (elementary schools and middle schools) in the latter part of this year and it is expected to expand to 130 schools next year.
