Revised Guidelines for International Arrivals in India

The Indian government has further eased its entry rules on Covid-19 for international travellers from 22 November 2022, due to the declining trajectory of Covid 19 and progress made on the vaccination around the world and in India.

Passengers will no longer have to submit their self-declaration form and upload their negative Covid 19 RT PCR report on the Air Suvidha online portal before departure. However, on arrival, thermal screening will continue to be carried out, and passengers who are found to be symptomatic during screening will be immediately isolated and taken to a designated medical facility as per the health protocol.

The above advisory is applicable to international travellers entering through different points of entry including airports, seaports and land border.

Further, use of masks and face covers have also been made optional during international and domestic flights, in contrast with the previous policy which issued passengers with fines or other penalties for not wearing a face mask during a flight.

It is however advised that passengers are fully vaccinated as per the approved schedule of vaccination in their home country.  It is also recommended that all travellers should self-monitor their health post arrival and in case of covid like symptoms, they should report to their nearest health facility or call the national helpline number (1075) or state helpline number.
