Report shows jump in Chinese students going to the US

During the 2012-13 academic year, Chinese student enrolments increased by a hefty 21.4 per cent annually to more than 235,000, according to the 2013 Open Doors Report on International Educational Exchange, released on Monday 11 November. According to the report from the Institute of International Education, the number of international students enrolled in US establishments of higher education in the academic year rose 7.2 per cent to more than 819,000. Of all international students in the US, 28.7 per cent were from China. The rise in the number of undergraduate students from China was especially dramatic, increasing by 26 per cent from the previous year. Reports China Daily.
