Newly branded Study UK website

We are really pleased to announce that the British Council has launched the newly branded Study UK website on 20 July with a fresh look.

A consultation period with the HE sector and audience research indicated a need for a refresh of the site’s design and functionality,  including a course search function. The new site features a comprehensive course and scholarship search provided by IDP Connect, which helps prospective students to refine their options when researching study destinations and enables them to make direct enquiries with institutions.

The site, designed by TPX Impact and built in-house by our digital team, features a variety of multi-media content showcasing the best UK higher education has to offer. New features such as auto-play hero videos and rich-media carousels, bring to life the campaign’s extensive, high-impact student-generated social media content.

The new website maintains the Study UK campaign name and core messaging and reflects Study UK’s new brand identity which aligns with the central GREAT Britain campaign. As such, it features both the British Council and GREAT partnership logos and GREAT brand colours.

As of yesterday, one full week since the new website went live, we have been seeing amazing results.

In the first week since we launched:

  • We have increased newsletter sign-ups by 288%
  • We have generated 236 leads to universities (people emailing universities directly) and 1,307 clicks to university websites from the course search
  • Our bounce rate has gone down by 7.3%
  • Our pages per session and session duration have both gone up by around 45%
  • These trends indicate a more engaging website with a more intuitive user experience. As we launch our ad campaigns next week we expect to see these trends continue to grow on a larger scale.

In September, we will be running a joint webinar with IDP to showcase the new site and course search features.
