The Indonesian government has just announced that the LPDP scholarship for 2023 is now open. There will be two windows opening for candidates to apply. First window is open from 25 January to 25 February and the second window is from 9 June to 9 July 2023.

There are 47 UK universities listed as LPDP overseas university partners, they are grouped into three general categories namely General Scholarship, Targeted Scholarship and Affirmative Scholarship.  This is the same number as per 2022 although there are some changes to the different categories in which UK universities fall under.   Please see the full list attached.

The total number of available scholarships for 2023 will be around 7000 scholarships. This is still below pre-pandemic level where 9911 scholarships were allocated in 2019.

British Council Commentary:

1. UK universities listed in LPDP scholarship should make it clear in their marketing collateral for Indonesia that they are on the LPDP list.
2. If you are on Targeted Scholarship list, please do check your alumni database for any alumni who are civil servant, and please do engage them in marketing activities if possible. Majority of Targeted Scholarship beneficiary is civil servant.
