International visitors to Malaysia no longer required to fill in Traveller’s Card on MySejahtera

The Malaysian Ministry of Health announced that travellers entering Malaysia will no longer be required to fill in the digital Traveller’s Card on the MySejahtera app as of 1 August 2022.

The Health Minister stated that the measure is intended to make entry procedures easier for travellers to Malaysia and is linked to the positive and controlled health system in place.  Visitors will remain subject to health screening upon arrival at airports and may be required to undergo further medical checks if thermal scanners detect fever or in case of symptoms.

British Council comment:

Another positive announcement to facilitate international visits to Malaysia. We believe this will go a long way to support an increased frequency of visits by UK institutions to Malaysia to meet with partners, students and wider stakeholders.

It is important to note that given the nature of pandemic related regulations, we strongly recommend re-checking all requirements and advisories closer to travel dates to ensure a smooth and hassle free arrival.
