Covid-19 updates from Thailand

There are a few updates about the Covid-19 situation and related regulations in Thailand for those planning to visit Thailand from 1 October 2022.

  • Thailand’s Emergency Decree, a measure to contain the spread of COVID-19, will end on 30 September.
  • The COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) will also be dissolved.
  • This is to confirm the reclassification of COVID-19 from a “dangerous infectious disease” to an “infectious disease under watch” and Thailand to enter a ‘post-pandemic’ era on 1 October.

From 1 October

  • There will no longer be a need for checks of vaccination status or ATK tests, but people must take care of themselves by not lowering their guard.
  • COVID-19 will be treated like flu, and patients who do not have symptoms or have only mild symptoms will be advised to observe DMHT (distancing, mask-wearing, hand washing and testing) measures strictly for five days.
