CII HE conference

The Confederation of Indian Industry in partnership with the Ministry of Human Resource Development and the All India Council for Technical Education is organizing the 5th University-Industry Congress: Global Higher Education Summit and Exhibition 2015 from 2nd – 3rd December at Scope Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. The United Kingdom and Australia are Country Partners for this summit.

The University-Industry Congress is an annual higher education summit that sees a convergence of academia and industry for discussion and dialogue on issues of mutual interest. Being organised for the past five years, the objective of this summit is to facilitate partnerships among institutes and industry for research, better teaching tools, enhancing the employability of students, creating more relevant curricula, training the trainers and capacity building in teaching arena, among others. Within a short span of time, this congress has emerged as the largest university-industry platform in the country with widespread participation from the highest level of government, industry and academia from both India and abroad.

The theme of this year’s summit is Think in India – Skill in India - Make in India.

Make in India is an initiative of the Government of India, to encourage companies to manufacture their products in India. The major objective behind the initiative is to focus on 25 sectors of the economy for job creation and skill enhancement. The initiative hopes to increase GDP growth and tax revenue. The initiative also aims at high-quality standards and minimizing the impact on the environment. The initiative hopes to attract capital and technological investment in India. It is through enlarging and enriching the higher education system that India can realize its dream of Make in India.

  • AICTE-CII Indpact Awards

CII conducts yearly Industry sponsored Best Industry-Linked Technical Institutes Awards in partnership with AICTE on the basis of AICTE-CII Survey of Industry-Linked Technical Institutes. The survey has been successfully mapping industry linkages of Indian technical institutes across four streams—Engineering, Pharmacy, Architecture and Management. The survey showcases best practices of industry partnerships and highlights the strengths and weaknesses of the Indian education ecosystem. These awards will be conferred at the event.

  • Exhibition and Networking Platform

There will be a higher education exhibition. It will be open for players from across the entire value chain of education – from school education to higher education, vocational education and skill development.
