British Council Pakistan Launches Guidelines for Disability Inclusive TVET Education

Inclusion is at the heart of all we do. British Council and Special Talent Exchange Programme (STEP) Pakistan worked together under the EU funded VET Toolbox project to do a gap analysis for Disability Inclusive TVET Education in Pakistan. Based on the gaps identified, we developed a set of guidelines which can serve as a baseline for efficient planning and design of intervention for National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) and Special Initiative Department. The guidelines have been developed keeping in mind the local context and with support from the NAVTTC and National Accreditation Council. British Council organised a Stakeholder Dialogue on Disability Inclusive TVET Education in Pakistan to launch the guidelines and invite stakeholders in the public and private sector to join the conversation. The guidelines will add to the literature on mainstreaming disability inclusion in TVET in Pakistan and have a significant and sustained impact on the lives and futures of persons with disabilities.
