Study UK 'Wider Europe: Meet UK universities' September 2021 - February 2022

11 October, 2021 - 12 February, 2022
Join the virtual Study UK ‘Wider Europe: Meet UK universities’ event between October 2021 – February 2022

Over 10,000 students from Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Israel choose the UK for their higher education each year.

Whilst Russia and Turkey represent the largest markets in the Wider Europe region, Central Asia is on the rise. Student mobility from Uzbekistan to the UK has increased by over 170% in the past decade and Kazakhstan now boasts one of the most mobile student populations in the world, both have increased national scholarship programmes.  Russia remains virtually untapped, with only 5 per cent of the students who choose to study overseas coming to the UK.  There are also enormous TNE partnership opportunities in the region.

The scholarships on offer in the region also provide significant opportunities for your institution. With the UK being one of the favoured countries for the MoNE scholarship in Turkey, whilst in Uzbekistan 97% of those who apply for the El-Yurt-Umidi scholarships apply to English speaking countries. Finally, the Bolashak scholarship in Kazakhstan provides over 1,000 places for overseas study, research, and internships. These programmes cover over 2,000 potential students each year
